Friday Night In The Woods

My musical side is having a big upswing. Im playing in a band as of last Friday where we played in a cozy cafe together with another band. People walking the streets peeked in and some people gave thumbs up from their windows. Very cool response:)
No alchohol this time, just coffee, sandwiches and cookies.
After the performance we sat some people (mostly latinamericans) talking with each other. It resulted in a visit to another place, a pub som blocks away. Here we met up with more people. And after some beers we decided to go to a open rockfestival closer to where I live. On the subway a friend of a friend from Ireland suggested we take out our guitars. Sure, we did Jessie and I and it resulted in a mini performance on the train full of semi drunk people. After some songs at least 7 guys showed up from nowhere to join in the singing of Pink Floyd songs. We started talking to eachother and quickly decided to join forces - resulting in a very big group of people singing and playing guitar on our way to the festival. Since it was late by now, the festival had ended, but there were still many people, drunk and so on the streets. Some were friends of friends others just passers by that joined us. We decided to make a fire on some rocks in the woods nearby. We had beer and some people had vodka so we made a party in the woods:) A party that included almost every latinamerican playing guitar, singing, and even dancing. Everyone had a good time and Im sure the girls felt safe with all these guys playing guitar, dancing and just having fun - no animosity or 'though' atmosphere one usually finds when people get drunk. Maybe Ill meet some of the people again when I play tonight.

When Will I Circle the Globe?

One should make it a habit to google ones names once in a while - just to check what one is associated with nowadays:)

Found this interesting site with an ancestor from my dads side (Cano family).

Juan Sebastián El Cano had sailed with Magellan who died while sailing around the world. El Cano finished the voyage.
Hm, maybe one should try something like that. He was 46 year old at that time so I got some time to outperform him, hehe.
Maybe ill circumnavigate the solar system (yeah sure) or some other world (finding some hidden dimensions and doing it that way) - I dont know.

If you want, you can support my quest financially - just post a comment and Ill get back to you.

Semi Thoughtful

Yes, its been a while since the last posting.
Looking into the creative parts right now - music, poetry and storytelling.
Wish I could in an instant be in Puerto Rico, with my friends and make music together.
Thats something I really miss, the people, the music, the pubs.
Its too bad I only have one swedish friend who has been to Puerto Rico, who can tell others of her experience. Sure, you have latinamericans in Sweden, but thats like saying norwegians instead of swedes - its not the same.
Listening to Phoenix at the job right now -recognized the song not the title. Its interesting what feelings a song may stir up, and the memories connected to them. I have to record my music. That people may connect it to their own experiences is an uplifting thought - connecting, sharing, something transmundane.

We are also waiting

Dont Panick? No Hitchhikers Guide Movie Yet!!!

Patrick in his blog raises a very good question:
Why do movie premiers differ so much?
Arrrg!
I can only agree, it sucks!
People who have read the 'The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy' books may have shifting opinions on what books are good. But that there is enough cool stuff in them to amount for a very very good movie is unquestionable (at least for me).

Take a look at the pic I submitted - it seems to be a good movie:)

Poster I Bought Yesterday

Lost in Kozyndan

Yesterday I bought a kozyndan signed poster from my workmates.

They are already feeling guilty for not giving it to me. But it was fun bargaining with the others for it. I got it for 120 swedish kronor, compared to the 147 kronor + 1 week delivery time if Id bought it directly from kozyndan.

Take a look at kozyndans art here.

Ive been looking at it alot, its got some very cool details I like.

My Brothers 'Little Park' in New York

A Sunny Day At Work Discussing Poop

Its sunny outside.
Ive recieved answer from the design anthropologist at Intel.
I've got to write a VERY good interview to email him since now he is in Phoenix.
No telephone interview. No oportunity to really make an in depth interview.

...And what do we talk about at work?

POOP!

F. has heard about this wonderful way of restoring the intestine flora. Freeze your own poop. When you got a stomach ache just take a little piece and swallow it.
P. starts talking about a good way of replacing key words in famous movie titles with the word POOP. Like for example: James Bond With License to Poop, Gold Poop, Crime and Poop, War and Poop, The Two Poops...etc.

F. comments, maybe its not soo good to continue writing our reports, maybe we will start replacing important words with the word poop instead.

From regression analysis to flora restoration in your intestines, to replacing keywords in movie titles.
A day in work - at the lowest and funniest level:)

A Page Appreciated

Not sure If people have seen maddox page. I read it a bit, especially when I need some sense banged into me. Take a look if you have time. His last post is hilarious. Heres the thank you letter I sent him. Since he gets ALOT of hatemails, I thought a THANK YOU mail was in order. Besides, I wouldnt send a hatemail anyways - Id get my ass kicked:) The email I sent:

Hi, Just wanted to send some lines of appreciation. Your page has made it hard
for me not to smile (even if I've felt depressed or just disillusioned). It’s obvious you make an effort to communicate your point clearly, which shows in your writing style and presentation. The last post I read (i.e., unintentionally sexual comic book covers) is a good example of what I like with your page - the critical eye revealing the absurd or twisted in an apparent ''normal'' world. Laughed so hard I had to take an early coffee break from my research (I read your page from time to time when I’m bored). Thank you!

Good Luck with your page,

Best Regards,

Carlos
